Letters to Juliet

Sophie is a talented writer who goes to Verona, Italy with her busy fiancé. First she authors a story about the famous end of world War two's time Square kiss. Sophie discovered amazing facts concerning that historic event. This opening for the movie sets everything in motion for a romantic story.

Sophie had a fiancé named Victor and he owns a restaurant. So he books a trip to Italy to gain new suppliers for his business and Sophie goes with him. Victor is loving every moment of his new restaurant endeavors and Sophie wants time off, and plans to visit a historic, tourist attractions. Sophie is able to get away from food and wine for a moment and visits Juliet Capulet's estate, where tourists can send letters to Juliet and tape them to the wall. Sophie is impressed with the scenery and woman appears with a basket and collects every letter. Sophie follows her to a restaurant and inside a back entrance where there are other ladies writing replies to each note.

The women are called Juliet's secretaries and they respond to each letter. They write in faith its the best response to each person. Sophie is impressed and sees more of what they do and their chef gives her a treat to say thank you. She tries talking to Victor and he smells the treat and eats it. The next day he goes with her to the restaurant that houses Juliet's secretaries and Victor stays in the kitchen and Sophie follows the same woman to Juliet's wall and comes across a loose brick and discovers a letter behind it. She's amazed because it was written in the year 1957.

Sophie reads the letter to the secretaries and it's from a British woman who falls in love with an Italian man who owns a farm. Sophie writes her a letter and she receives it. Her grandson comes to their office and tells them he isn't thrilled with his grandmother receiving her letter and walks away. Sophie follows him and there is his grandmother- Claire standing near Juliet's wall. The secretaries listen to her story and finds her love story sad because her family did not approve of Lorenzo.

Claire's grandson, Charlie, says his grandfather was the love of her life and of course had she not have married the way she did, he wouldn't be here. Claire decides to go and found Lorenzo. Sophie wants to go with them and she does. Along the country side of Italy, Sophie's friendship to Charlie grows and intensifies and the journey takes a lot of patience.

They find many Lorenzo's and in the beginning it was anticipated desire this trip worthwhile but after a while it wasn't fun anymore and Charlie becomes frustrated and wants to protect his grandmother. Then there was a Lorenzo that died...Then later they drive to a beautiful farm and there Lorenzo was. Then Claire and Lorenzo connect again. And he invites them dinner and there's kind words exchanged.

While Sophie is involved with the love affair, she writes this story and everyone forgets about Victor...All except Charlie, it becomes apparent after he kisses her. Charlie and Sophie care a lot for each other but then there's Victor. Sophie returns home and submits this story to her boss. She invited to Claire and Lorenzo's wedding and told Victor she's going alone and she ends their engagement.

After the wedding, Sophie and Charlie talk and she on a balcony and Charlie climb up to tell her he loves her and it looks like a Romeo and Juliet scene. Except, Charlie falls and Sophie runs to see if he's alright and he is and they kiss. Everyone surrounded them and laugh.

This romantic movie is worthy of an award because it's that lovely. It creates desire in viewers to travel and find love elsewhere. It's a cute tale of rekindling a romance that was lost some time ago. A great 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 film.
